It’s the last day of 2017 so welcome to the inaugural look back at the year in tabletop gaming where I name my top 5 companies or people from that year! This list is based entirely on my opinions, as well as the games I play. I know there are so many amazing companies, both big and single-person deals, putting out great tabletop contents of all types throughout the year, but unfortunately I can only rate what I know. Here we are with yet another Adventure Seeds, likely the last of the year! We head back to the city, but this time rather than focus on a city specific to a race or location, I picked events that could happen in a large, sprawling city, filled with people of different races, backgrounds, and walks of life.
The challenge for me here was not having a crutch such as “pick something that dwarves would do”, as well as trying to figure out more civil type adventures and conflicts. It was a fun challenge and a good stretch of my muscles as I plan to resume my campaign at the start of the new year. As usual, there are some assumptions I made about the city that you should be able to easily change as you wish:
Originally, this deck was a Budget Rakdos (B/R) Treasure deck because I was daydreaming about how Fleetwheel Cruiser could be a Budget replacement for Hazoret the Fervent. The deck had all sorts of goodies like Unlicensed Disintegration, Captain Lannery Storm, and Inventor’s Apprentice. After some more thought, I decided to challenge myself with a Pauper deck that gives a taste of what it’s like to pilot Rakdos Aggro at the mere price of building it out of a friend’s draft chaff. The MTGGoldish decklist can be found HERE, but I have also embedded it below:
Our irregularly recurring Market Watch segment has returned! However, since the last segment, Andrew has ditched Star Wars: Destiny entirely to return to Magic: the Gathering. This time, based upon all currently available information, we are pressing BUY on a speculation (“spec”) for a possible Standard “Fish” centerpiece: Kopala, Warden of Waves.
What the heck is a Sheathipede? Isn’t this supposed to be a game about starfighters? On November 10th, FFG dropped the “Coordinate Your Attack” article in which they preview the new Phantom II expansion for the Rebel Faction. The ship itself is cheap, packed full of action-economy, and some new and exciting upgrades that are also very inexpensive. Let’s take a look!
Another month, another batch of playtest rules from our good friends at Wizards of the Coast. This month, following up on September’s positive feedback on the eladrin subrace, we get four more elf subraces, each distinct from each other and those already existing.
This includes the winged avariel, the primal grugach, the hardy sea elves, and the mysterious shadar-kai. Spoiler: I like each and every one of them; keep reading to find out why! Read More
In FFG’s latest article, “Bullseye!,” we finally get to see what the bullseye firing arc is all about. Originally spoiled in early August at a Gen Con panel and then later teased on August 21, 2017 in FFG’s article “Bring on the Alpha Strike,” we now have a full preview of the Kimogila Fighter. As always, I form my own reaction, scour the internet for the community’s reaction, and then smash it all together with a bit of humor for your information and enjoyment. Let’s take a look!
