Ready Review: “An Unlikely Story,” a book store and cafe in Plainville, MA

Late last year, on a Saturday morning, my girlfriend and I were looking for a local cafe or bookstore so that she could get some work done on her laptop.  A quick Google search indicated that a magical place, with both coffee AND books, was just around the corner.

As you arrive, I recommend parking near the front entrance shown above.  You’ll thank me later.

The rear entrance is cute, but parking is limited and cramped.

Once inside, you’ll be met with cheerful staff and a pretty well-stocked cafe.  There is a good amount of seating but, as can be expected, it filled up pretty quickly on the Saturday morning that we visited.

The decor is rustic, yet cozy: reclaimed wood, milk paint, good lighting, and high ceilings.

For a small cafe, the menu has a pretty good selection.  The coffee and sandwich that I had were delicious!

I saved the best for last: there are flying books and brooms on the ceiling!

They also have regular events, meet-the-author signings, etc.

Check out their website and social media accounts for more information!
